6th Grade Math, Science and MESA

In our class, we explore exciting concepts in math and science through hands-on activities, critical thinking, and real-world applications.

🔹 Math: We follow the Illustrative Mathematics curriculum, focusing on problem-solving, reasoning, and collaboration. Expect to engage in discussions, explore mathematical concepts deeply, and apply your learning to real-world situations.

🔹 Science: Using HMH Science Dimensions, we dive into investigations aligned with NGSS standards, covering topics like Earth's systems, energy, and forces. You will think like a scientist, conduct experiments, and develop explanations using CER (Claim, Evidence, Reasoning).

🔹 MESA Program: Our school offers the MESA (Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement) program, which provides exciting opportunities for students to engage in STEM projects, competitions, and hands-on challenges. This is a great way to apply what you learn in class and explore careers in STEM fields!
